Are you using Guidebook Registration for your paid event? We have partnered with Stripe for payment processing. This means you can sell tickets for your event and collect revenue in one place using Guidebook’s Stripe integration.
All you need to do is:
- Set up a Stripe Connected Account and
- Link it to your Guidebook Registration website.
Accessing the Stripe integration
From Guidebook Registration
When setting up your Guidebook Registration website, you may be prompted to configure your Stripe Connected Account.
The Stripe integration must be configured by someone who owns the guide. Contact that person, or - if it’s you! - click on the warning message to be taken to the Stripe configuration page.
From Builder anywhere, any time
You can also access the Stripe configuration page at any time from your account dashboard.
If you are using Guidebook Registration through your individual account, visit the Registration tab of your account management dashboard (learn more here).
If you are using Guidebook Registration as an organization administrator, visit the Registration tab of the organization dashboard (learn more here).
From the Registration tab, click Stripe account. This sub-tab is where you can manage your Stripe Connect Account(s) and choose which one to associate with each of your registration websites.
Setting up a Stripe Connected Account
In order to set up the Stripe integration, you will need to complete the following steps:
- Create a Stripe Connected Account
- Provide Business Details and Banking Information
- Provide Tax Information
Stripe will verify the information you provide. This verification process may involve further review, where you may need to provide additional information (https://docs.stripe.com/connect/identity-verification). Verification may take up to 24 hours.
Create a Stripe Connected Account
To begin, click Create Stripe Account. Then, set an Account Nickname. Last, select the country where the business is legally established, or where the Stripe account holder resides.
The country cannot be changed after this point. If the incorrect country is selected, you will need to create a new Stripe account with the correct country selection.
Click Continue, and then click Add information to proceed with Stripe onboarding.
Provide Business Details and Banking Information.
You will need to authenticate with Stripe. Simply provide an email address or phone number. You will receive a one-time verification code to use for login.
- We recommend using an email address or phone number that can be readily accessed by the user(s) who will be managing your Stripe integration with Guidebook Registration.
Next, select your Business type. If you are unsure which to select, Stripe Support can assist you: https://support.stripe.com/questions/how-to-determine-your-business-type-and-structure.
Then, you will be prompted to provide additional information across a number of pages, depending on the business type selected.
Your view may differ from the screenshot here. However, anyone can access this progress menu to quickly navigate between pages.
When you arrive at Bank details configuration, select the bank account that should receive payouts from Stripe.
Next, provide Public details.
Lastly, review all of the information you have provided so far. When ready, click Agree and submit.
Provide Tax Information
Setup is nearly complete! Your next step is to provide tax information. Click Continue.
Under the Tax Settings tab, click to Add address.
Provide the physical address where the business is located. If you are unsure of the address to use, consult a tax advisor.
Additional note about taxes
If your business has tax obligations, please visit the Tax Registrations tab as well. Follow the prompts on-screen to provide the necessary information. If you are unsure of tax obligations you may have, please consult with your tax advisor.
Linking Stripe to Guidebook Registration
After you have added a Stripe Connected Account, you can link it to a Guidebook Registration website.
Simply navigate to one of your Registration websites in the table, and click None Selected in its row.
Then choose the Stripe account you want to link to that Registration website.
