Guidebook Web pages are highly customizable. All Guidebook Web pages will contain the guide's General Information section, which includes your custom guide branding, the guide description, location, and dates. Your Guidebook Web page has the same privacy setting as the mobile guide, though feature availability may differ between web and app — see the configuration section below.
This article covers configuring your Guidebook Web page from the builder side — how to enable features for web, find your URL, and manage the web experience. If you're an attendee trying to access an event guide on a laptop or desktop, see Guidebook Web for End Users instead.
Configuring your Guidebook Web Page
Important: Features in your guide are not available on the web by default. Each menu item has its own Available on the web toggle, found in Settings > Availability within that menu item. If you want a feature to appear on your Guidebook Web page, you'll need to turn this toggle on. The ribbon in the navigation menu on the guide-building canvas shows you which surfaces each feature is currently available on.
Builders can now make more of their guide content available on the web-based companion to the app. We have added support for Folders, Schedule Tracks, and Pinned features. Additionally, an update to Guidebook Web configuration makes it easier for builders to design the web-based experience at the same time as they design the app-based experience.
Your app and the complementary website are designed simultaneously. For each menu item, visit the Settings tab to configure your guide for app users and for web users. On the guide-building canvas, a ribbon in the navigation menu informs you whether a feature is available on the app, on web, on both, or on neither.
If your event is virtual or hybrid, we highly recommend configuring your Guidebook Web page so that users can access your content from multiple devices.
Guide URL
To find and copy your live Guidebook Web URL, go to the Promote section of your guide.
The structure of the URL builder.guidebook.com/g/[short-name] is set and can't be changed. What you can change is the short name itself, which makes up the end of the URL. You can change the short name from your guide's Guide Details section in Builder.
For a fully custom link (a branded domain, vanity URL, or shorter version), we'd recommend using a third-party URL shortener such as Bitly, Rebrandly, or TinyURL.
End-User Experience
We want to help your users access your guide quickly and easily while making your promotion easy. This will result in higher adoption and better user engagement.
There is information you can share with your end users about Guidebook Web in this support article, including information about downloading the guide and engaging with content.
Guidebook Web pages translate automatically based on the language of the user's device. The flag icon at the bottom of a Guidebook Web page indicates what languages are available.

FAQs
Why should I use a Guidebook Web page?
App adoption is central to the success of your guide and your event. Guidebook Web pages give you the power and tools to maximize app downloads, showcase online content, and generate buzz for your guide.
How can my attendees find my Guidebook Web page?
When you invite users to download your guide, they will receive an email with a link to your Guidebook Web page. They'll be able to see the content you chose to feature and will have multiple opportunities to download the mobile version of your guide.
Can I embed my Guidebook Web page or schedule on my own website?
Guidebook does not support iframes or HTML embed codes for the schedule or for Guidebook Web pages. To share your schedule and other guide content on the web, link out to your Guidebook Web page from your own site. Your Guidebook Web page is a fully hosted, mobile-friendly version of your guide that includes the schedule, custom lists, and other configured features.
Why doesn't a feature appear on my Guidebook Web page?
Features default to off for the web — each menu item needs to be enabled for web access individually. Open the menu item, go to Settings > Availability, and turn on Available on the web.
An attendee says they registered through Eventbrite (or another ticket platform) but didn't get a Guidebook invite. Where's their link?
Guidebook invite emails are sent separately from your ticket platform — they don't come from Eventbrite, Cvent, or other registration tools. They come from invitations@guidebook.com. If your attendee can't find one, check that you've added their email to your invite list and that you've published your guide. You can also share the public Guidebook Web URL (builder.guidebook.com/g/[short-name]) with them directly so they can access the web version without waiting on the invite email.
An attendee says the invite link only takes them to a download page on their laptop. How do they get to the web version?
Some attendees on a desktop browser see a prompt to download the mobile app instead of being routed to the Guidebook Web page. To bypass this, send them the web URL directly: builder.guidebook.com/g/[short-name]. The web version will load without requiring a download.
I'm sharing my Guidebook Web URL but attendees say they don't see certain features. What's going on?
The most common cause is that those features haven't been enabled for web. Open each menu item, go to Settings > Availability, and turn on Available on the web. Features are off by default for the web — see the warning at the top of the Configuring section.
My guide was created before July 2024 — how do I switch to the new Guidebook Web configuration?
Guides purchased before July 17, 2024 originally used an older Guidebook Web configuration page. To convert to the new configuration, click Switch to the new Guidebook Web manager in your guide's Guidebook Web settings, then click Continue.
