The Icon and Cover image you choose will make your guide pop! When you first get started on your guide, you will be prompted to upload an Icon and Cover Image. You can also come back and edit these later anytime.
In this article, we will cover:
- The Guide Icon: .PNG or .JPG file; 232 pixels wide, 192 pixels tall
- The Cover Image: .PNG or .JPG file; 1440 pixels wide, 720 pixels tall
- Uploading Your Guide Icon and Cover Image
The guide icon is a 232 pixels wide, 192 pixels tall .PNG or .JPG file.
In the Guidebook app and in Branded multi-guide apps, the guide icon will appear on the app home screen, on top of the cover image. In this example, the smaller icon - like the one that says "SOAR" - is the guide icon.
If you have less than 3 guides in the saved "My Guides" area, the guide icon will appear next to the guide name by itself.
In this example, the guide icon is the Guidebook "g".
The cover image is a 1440 pixels wide, 720 pixels tall .PNG or .JPG file.
This is a great place for a banner about your guide's topic, for a logo, or for some other image like a skyline or group of people.
In the Guidebook app and in Branded Multi-guide apps, the cover image will appear on the app home screen, underneath the guide icon. In this example, the larger pictures - like the one of campus - is the cover image.
Across all platforms, the cover image appears across the top of the General Info page, and a greyed-out version of the cover image will appear at the top of the drawer navigation menu. If you have the Interact feature enabled, users will see a greyed-out version of the cover image at the top of the feed as well.
In this example, the cover image is a picture of ocean waves.
Select a distinct guide icon and an eye-catching cover image to help your guide look unique & polished.
From the guide-building screen in builder, click on your General Info menu item or on the "Edit guide details" button in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Then, select the "Branding" tab.
To edit the guide icon, click on the blue pencil in the middle of the window. To edit the cover image, click on the blue pencil towards the top-left corner.
The blue pencil button will open a file browser for you to choose an image file (.png or .jpg) from your computer. Choose the image you would like to upload, and then use the slider to increase/decrease the size of your file as needed. You can click & drag the image or use the "center" & "original size" buttons to orient the icon as you would like.
Don't forget to click "crop and save"! Then click the "save" button in the Branding tab of Guide Details.
