Someone building a Guidebook mobile guide—for a conference, event, or program you’re part of—has invited you to fill in your own information directly. This article walks you through what to expect and how to submit your content.
You don’t need a Guidebook account or a password to do this. The invite link is all you need.
The Invite Email
You will receive an email from guidebot@guidebook.com that looks like this:
It will be addressed from the guide you’re contributing to, for example your conference or event name. Click Get started to open the edit page in your browser.
If the email landed in your spam or promotions folder, that is the one. It is a legitimate invite from the team running the guide.
Filling in Your Information
The link will take you to a page where you can edit just the item you’ve been invited to contribute to, usually a schedule session if you’re a speaker or presenter, or a list item if you’re a sponsor, exhibitor, or staff contact. You will not see or be able to change anything else in the guide.
You will see up to three tabs on the left:
- Details: the main content. Depending on what you’ve been invited to edit, this might include a session name, a description, a bio, a headshot or logo, and so on. The description field is text-only, so any formatting from a pasted document will be stripped.
- Links: add PDFs or web links you would like attached, for example a slide deck, a one-pager, or your website. Any links the guide builder has already added will be visible but not editable by you.
- Videos: add video links if relevant, for example a recorded talk or a promo clip.
Fill in whatever is relevant. You do not have to use every tab.
Submitting Your Changes
When you are done, click Submit to guide at the bottom of the page. You will see a confirmation screen:
Your submission does not go live in the guide right away. The guide administrator will review what you’ve sent and publish it. If anything needs a tweak, they may follow up with you directly.
If you realize you forgot something, click Revise on the success screen to go back and add to your submission.
Need to Make a Change Later?
Use the original link from your invite email and it will take you back to the same edit page. If you can’t find the email or the link no longer works, reach out to the person who invited you and they can resend it.
Who to Contact with Questions
If you have questions about what to submit, such as deadlines, what kind of bio to include, or image specs, reach out to the person or team who invited you. They are running the guide and will know what they need.
