Last year, we gave our apps a face-lift with the new Discover home screen. This made the app more attractive and easier to navigate. Since then, we've been testing and gathering real-world feedback so that we could iterate on that design to make the app even more intuitive for new users. This led us to the current version of the app's home screen, Home, which adds a new navigation bar to the bottom of the app screen. At the bottom of the app, you'll now see icons for My Guides, Explore, and Find Guides.
With the updated Home layout, it’s even easier to browse public guides, find specific guides, and see your downloaded guides. We hope you enjoy the new look and feel as much as we do.
When first opening Guidebook or a Branded Space, you'll see the Explore page. If the guide you're looking for is not there, you can search for it. To find a specific guide, tap the Find Guides icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
There are different privacy levels of guides that will determine how you find your guide.
If the guide-builder told you to search for a public guide, tap the search bar and type the name of the guide. Tap on it to download & open it.
If you received a passphrase from the guide-builder to access a private guide, tap the blue “Have a passphrase?” button at the bottom of the screen. Then input the passphrase you received. Proceed to download & open the guide.
If you received a QR code from the guide-builder, tap the QR icon in the top right corner of the app. Make sure you allow access to your camera. Then scan the QR code. Proceed to download & open the guide.
Note: If you have been invited to an Invite-Only guide, please log in by tapping the silhouette icon in the top-right corner of the app (remember to use the email address that was invited). Once logged in, you'll see the Invite-only guide at the top of the Explore page.
Once you download a guide, you will see it on the My Guides page. All locally stored guides will show here. Your most recently accessed guide will display in a larger card at the top of the page. If you have a lot of guides downloaded, you can filter them using the search bar at the top of the screen.
This is the default view of a space. You can browse all of the public guides from the Explore page if you want to see what’s out there. Many of these guides will be resources you may need any time of year. This is especially helpful for Branded Spaces.
Tap to download any of the guides that catch your eye. They will be saved on the My Guides page for quick access.
