What parts of my guide require internet access?

Follow

On iOS and Android devices, downloading a guide will store it directly onto a user's device. As a result, the majority of a guide's contents - including schedules, custom lists, and maps - will be available offline.

There are, however, certain Internet-only features:

  • Surveys
  • Live Polls
  • Photo Album
  • Linked URLs (including links to PDFs)
  • Notifications
  • RSS Feed
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Social Media (Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook)
  • Ticketing
  • Updates: When a device regains internet service, the guide will automatically check for updates the next time it is opened.
  • Web views
  • Attendance Tracking (Note: Premium feature under construction, may not be available for your guide)
  • Private Messaging

Important Note: Users of the mobile web version of Guidebook (guidebook.com/browse) will require an internet connection at all times to access their guides.

Given how important connectivity is today, solid internet availability is now a must-have at most events and venues. Read our post on Event WiFi Essentials to learn more about this critical event offering.
