Overview of the Notes Module

Follow

Here it is, in all of its splendor!

Guidebook has the ability to take notes in-app!  You'll find this product improvement in the Notes Module.  Note: This feature is not currently supported by our Web platform -  guidebook.com/browse. If you have a branded app, and do not currently have the Notes feature, please check with your Guidebuilding Expert to access the Notes module.

To get started, add the Notes Module into your guide by clicking "Add Menu Item".  Once the module has been added, your guide will become fully notes-supported: users will be able to click into the Notes Module, individual list items, and/or sessions to add their own personal notes and comments.

Notes for iOS

From the notes module itself: Hit the "Create Note" button in the middle of the screen (or the "Add New Note" button on the bottom of the screen, if you've already created some notes).

From any session or custom list item: Tap on the "Add New Note" button (from a session or list item), enter your text and hit save.

No matter where you add a new note, the Notes Module will show you a comprehensive list of your notes.  You can edit a note in the same way you created one; just tap into the note to make and save your changes.

To delete a note on iOS, tap into the note (either in the Notes Module or in the list/session where you created the note), and hit the trash can icon on the right side of the page.

To share/export a single note on iOS, tap into the note (as you would to delete the note), and select the "Share Icon" (it looks like a box with an arrow) on the bottom left of the screen.  You'll then be able to select which mode you would like for sharing.  To share/export all notes, head back into the Notes Module, and tap the contextual menu icon (event app notes 6) on the top right of the screen.  In the side menu that opens, please click on "Share All Notes".  You're good to go!

Notes for Android

From the notes module itself: Click on the "Notes" module, then select "Add Note."

No matter where you add a new note, the Notes Module will show you a comprehensive list of your notes.  You can edit a note in the same fashion as you created the note: tap into the note from the Notes Module or hit the Pen/Paper button in a session/list item, make your edits, and hit save!

To delete a note on your Android, tap into the note (either in the Notes Module or through the pen/paper button in the specific list/session), press your Android Hardware Menu button, and select the delete prompt.

To share/export a single note on Android, tap into the note (as you would to delete the note), and select the "Share Icon" (it looks like event app notes 11) on the top of the screen.  You'll then be able to select which mode you would like for sharing.  To share/export all notes, head back into the Notes Module, and tap the "Share" icon on the top right of the screen.  You can then send yourself or your friends any notes you've taken!
