Exporting data out of Builder is quick and easy. There are a few different uses for exporting data, and there are a few different data components you can export.
Export Guide Content - Schedule and/or Custom Lists
You can quickly and easily export any content added to a custom list or schedule within your guide. This is useful for checking information to catch potential mistakes or for making changes in bulk.
When viewing your schedule or custom list in Builder, you can export your sessions or items by selecting the Export to CSV button.
You will see a prompt letting you know it is exporting.
When the export is complete, you will receive a .csv file via email with your Custom List or Schedule template.
If you are using a linking template to link sessions and custom lists together, export your data to get the ID numbers for the linking template.
Export to Edit Content
Making many edits to the content in your guide with a template, rather than manually, is much faster. Particularly if you need to add or edit a lot of schedule sessions or custom list items, exporting and re-uploading will typically save time.
- Export Your Data - As demonstrated above, export the schedule or custom list you need to make changes to.
-
Edit the Spreadsheet - If you added your data using a template originally, this will look very similar. The main difference is column A (session or custom list ID). The ID numbers are assigned to each item or session, so Builder knows what is existing data to update and what is new data to add.
You can edit any content within this template except for the headers and information in column A as the ID numbers need to stay the same.
If you have new data to add, just start in the next row down, leaving column A blank. ID's will be associated with these new sessions or items once uploaded.
Deleting information from an exported spreadsheet does not delete that information from Builder.
- Re-Import - Follow the steps for a schedule import or custom list import to import your spreadsheet back into Builder.
Export Feedback
Export Form Responses
Using forms is a great way to gather information or feedback from your attendees. We provide you with the option to export this information once collected.
Export Session and/or List Item Ratings
Each session or custom list in your guide will automatically have 5-star ratings enabled. If you have chosen to keep this functionality, you can export the average of users’ ratings in the app.
From the guide dashboard, click on the More Options ellipsis button (⋯) next to your guide's title, and then select Export data.
Then click on Schedule Session Ratings (CSV) to export your session ratings. Click on any [Custom List Name] Ratings (CSV) to export the list item ratings for each of those lists. Builder will send you an email with the spreadsheet document.
Please keep in mind that these items only appear if there are responses recorded. We do not provide an export of each individual star rating given. The spreadsheet will give the average rating and the number of ratings that made the average.
Export Metrics and Insights
Export Metrics Data
From the guide dashboard, click on the Metrics box. Be sure the date range in the top-right reflects the timeframe you wish to view.
Click on the down arrow next to Metrics near the top-left. Then click to open the Metrics Export Data menu. From this view, click on the data you would like to export. The spreadsheet will download instantly. To learn more about the metrics available for your guide, visit our support resource.
You can also download metrics information from the specific metric card. Click on the download icon on a specific graphic to view options, including filetype choices to download the graph and choices to download the data in spreadsheet format.
Generate Audience Insights Report
You can export user-specific engagement reports, as well as information about sessions and custom list items—which ones are the most popular, and even who viewed them.
