Whether you print hard copies or display your QR Pages digitally, your users simply scan the QR Code with their device camera in order to access content in your app instantly.
First, add content to your guide with Custom Lists. Then, make sure your guide is attached to a Space. If you’re not ready for users to access your guide, you can still publish your guide privately.
Your guide must be attached to a Space before the QR Codes can be generated.
Setting Up QR Pages
A QR Page includes a code that points to a specific Custom List Item in your guide. You may choose to display text on the QR Page, or you can just have a code without any text.
In Builder, click on a Custom List to open it. Then, click on the QR Code Export tab.
Choose what information will appear on the QR Page alongside the QR Code. If you do not want any text to appear alongside the QR Code, simply click the toggles to disable them.
- Guide Name: If enabled, the Guide’s name will appear on each QR Page.
- Item Name: If enabled, each Custom List Item’s Name will appear on its QR Page.
- Item Description: If enabled, each Custom List Item’s Description will appear on its QR Page.
- Custom ID: If enabled, each Custom List Item’s Custom ID will appear on its QR Page.
- Note: If provided, this text will appear on each QR Page.
You can set the paper size: Letter or A4. You can also choose to print 1, 2, 6, 12, or 24 QR Pages per sheet of paper. A QR Page may take up an entire sheet of paper, or it may be as small as a business card. The more QR Pages are printed per sheet, the smaller each QR Page will be.
Lastly, you may request an export of QR Code URLs. Along with your QR Pages, Builder will email you a spreadsheet providing the URLs corresponding to each QR Code. You can use these URLs to create your own custom QR Codes, should you prefer.
Exporting QR Pages
To export your QR Pages, simply click the “Export” button from the QR Code Export tab.
Builder will email you the QR Pages in a PDF file. If you have requested the spreadsheet of QR Code URLs, you will also receive the CSV spreadsheet via email.
Quick Export
The QR Code Export tab allows you to configure and then export all of your QR Pages. You can generate just one or a few QR Pages at a time from your Custom List.
When you select a Custom List Item from this view, the button to Export QR Codes will appear.
Click to Export QR Codes.
From here you have a few options:
- Export QR Pages as a PDF file, according to the configuration settings
- Export the QR Code URLs in a spreadsheet, without the QR Code images or any text
When you click any of these buttons, Builder will email you with the files requested.
How QR Pages Work
Your users will be able to scan the QR Code with their device camera.
If your users already have your guide installed, they will be taken to the Custom List Item.
If your users do not have the guide installed yet, they will be prompted to download it. They should then scan the QR Code again to be taken to the Custom List Item.
